A four page letter (two sheets of paper) from Hester Ann Haynes Litchfield (1843-1900) in Buffalo, New York to her brother and sister in Clancy, Montana; written on letter head from Invalids' Hotel and Surgical Institute. World's Dispensary Medical Association, Proprietors. Buffalo, N.Y. World's Dispensary Medical Association Buffalo and London with an illustration of the building; dated October 28, 1899; Hester is at this hospital due to her poor health; she says in the letter that she thought she would just stay a few days, but will now be there for a total of 90 days; she tells of being homesick; she talks of the people she has met there from all over the United States; she is receiving electrolysis treatment; Hester and her husband Edward Litchfield lived in Lewiston, Maine. |
