Winslow, arrived in 1864, residing first in the Whitehall area and then moving to the Clancy/Alhambra vicinity around 1880. Bob’s paternal grandfather, Ernest L. Marks, arrived in Boulder around 1892, moving to Clancy in about 1895. Both grandfathers were ranchers that homesteaded in the Clancy area. He was mainly occupied in the mining industry, working for many years as an engineer at the Liverpool Mine in Lump Gulch.
