Scope & Content |
This accounting book appears to have been used at the Clancy Store, owned by William (1908-1996) and Fred (1910-1996) Haab in 1949. The Haab brothers were life-long Clancy area residents who owned and operated the Clancy Store between 1937-1968. Both men were very involved in the Clancy community, particularly with the Clancy Volunteer Fire Department. Their brother, Johnny, also worked at the store. William "Bill" Haab is the father of Clancy resident Robert "Bob" Haab. Most entries list payments to vendors, such as Texaco, Kraft Cheese Co., Montana Meath Co., Holter Hardware, miscellaneous produce/eggs and Eddy's. The ledger is hand bound with a cardboard cover and string, entitled "1949" on the front cover. Inside pages: disbursement and allowances; timeframe: January through December 1949. Interesting Entries: -Pharmacy Board License (June 1949) -Donations noted to Clancy Volunteer Fire Dept., Red Cross, Clancy School This folder also contains a brief two page history of the store. |
