Universal Hub Puller that fits vehicles with tapered axle press fit hubs, which includes many cars and light and heavy trucks over a very larege time range. First year likely 1934 up to the present. This one is used directly on lug studs with small bolt circles. A heavy hammer was used to pound on the small hammer heads on the top rotating wing. Repeated hammer blows tightened the threaded center bolt to press on the axle thus making the hub with the hub wheel and lug studs popoff the self-holding tapered axle. Today pneumatic impact tools replace the hammer to tighten bolts/nuts of all sizes. This item was gifted by Ed and Pat Dawes of Clancy Montana. This item belonged to Ed's father. |
